travel Instructions for patients

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PATIENTS TRAVELING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES

Preventice monitors cannot be worn while traveling on an aircraft.  

  • Disconnect the monitor before you leave your home.                                                    
  • Once you reach your final destination in the United States, reconnect the monitor.        
  • Contact the Monitoring Center prior departure to document the dates of travel. 

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PATIENTS TRAVELING OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

Preventice does not provide wireless monitoring service outside of the territorial boundaries of the United States (including all 50 states and Puerto Rico).                    Our monitors will not transmit data wirelessly to the Monitoring Center when taken outside of the U.S., as the cellular aspect of the monitors will not operate properly.       If the patient leaves the U.S. while utilizing one of our wireless monitors, Preventice will not be responsible for any interruption of services or charges associated with data transmission. 

Please contact the Monitoring Center if the you plan to travel outside the U.S.           We will provide a monitor which transmits via Trans telephonic Monitoring (TTM).         We have tested the utilization of Skype, in addition to standard international calling. The patient will be responsible for any fees/charges occurring attributed to the use of the monitor outside of the U.S., including any phone calls.

  • Monitors, batteries and other accessories and supplies will not be shipped outside the U.S.; therefore, patients must ensure they have adequate supplies prior to travel.
  • If you had symptoms and took a recording but did not transmit this event immediately via TTM means, the symptom should be captured and noted.       The noted symptom should be provided to technicians when contacting the Monitoring Center.
  • When calling the Monitoring Center at the provided non Toll-Free number, inform the recipient you are calling internationally. This will help us determine the best way to transmit the recordings.
